This album more than proves how effective and how good space rock can be if played by the masters of space rock. The vocals is as far back in the sound as it should be. The saxophones and guitars also makes the music pretty grotty and barbarian. Space rock in other words and a lot of the space rock here comes from the outer space. The music is still dominated by dirty, muddy space rock with lots of bass and electronics. The music is a lot more accessible here than on the previous album X In Search Of Space from 1971. So the classic setup, from what I have heard, is here in place. Nik Turner, Dave Brock and Robert Calvert were also involved. Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister debuted on this album and so did Simon Philips. The band was now a sextet with a lineup of audio generator, electronics, flute, sax, bass, drums, synths, guitars and vocals.
